The ST. AUGUSTINE GLORY our local semi-pro basketball team is developing a growing relationship with the St John's community. This month, that growing community partnership is manifesting itself in the first annual basketball game between Sheriffs Deputies against GLORY. To further solidify the community engagement focus of the event St John's STORM has invited to start the even with an exhibition game against another neighborhood youth basketball team.
Glory owner, Brad Clark met with Sheriff Robert Hardwick at the St John's Sheriffs office last week. The two discuss topics such as patriotism, oppression and their personal beliefs. The meeting lead to a strong alliance to build unity and bridge path that connect all sectors of our community, and culminated in discovering they would have a strong partnership for community outreach, for years to come.
The newly-formed alliance will be on display next week, when the Glory play the Sheriff’s Office in a basketball game to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community. The game, billed as “Glory vs. Deputies,” will take place July 31 at 4p.m. at the Flagler College gym.

The mission of Glory, which Clark started in 2017, is to create a winning community through basketball. “This partnership is about progression,” Clark said. “How can we make this city, this nation, a better place and use sports and law enforcement to do so?” Because of this GLORY has partnered with STORM to provide mentorship & encouragement. Glory's Head Coach Richard Reddick, is an active member of STORM's coaching team.
St John's STORM will be playing an earlier game that morning at 11AM at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, then will travel to St Augustine to headline the event that afternoon.
